Strikers at Sam Matteo, near Bologna, surrounded a body o: carbineers, who fired 40 shots into the crowd, killing eight including the strike leader, and wounded tw.-itity. The affray may hare farreaching consequetices, as the General Confederation of Labour has called niu emergency meeting With the view of takling utoited action.
