In accordance wv-th the Bill passed last session, a poll was hcl'cl yesterday on the question of the suburban area m 'the comity uniting with the borough. The proposal was carried by 407 votes to 61. The alteration will date Irom Slst March next. The result is that the population of the Thames borough will be increased to over 7000, and it is now the intention of the Borough Council to | s \hmit proposals for a loan ci £30,000, for a sewerage scheme lev the united districts. j Yesterday the Thames borough into-; payers, by a substantial majority, do- j tided to abandon the system of annual . rating in favour of rating ,n the improved value.
