COAL CRISIS IN AUSTRALIA
ALL STOCKS COMMANDEERED INDUSTRIAL PARALYSIS FEARED. (Australian and N.Z. Cable.) (Received May 1, 10.15 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day The Hon Mr Watt has announced that the Government has decided to commandeer all coal in the Commonwealth. The decision has been arrived at owing to the action of the New South Wales Government in inquiring into the •(industry, and to the fact thai a coal strike at the present time would paralyse the industries a l ' all the States but New South Walea. This action will ensvie the miners obtaining increased rates of pay. The regulation is being issued to-day.
