FALSE FIRE ALARMS
MAN CHASED BY A WOMAN. liy Telegraph.-I'ro.s .Association, WELLINGTON, this day. For a long time past the lire brigade lias been annoyed by,falsi; alarms. From particular.- received of an alarm in Hopper-street, it is at last believed that the culprit has been discovered. Two or three alarms came from that (juarler on .Saturday, mid on the last occasion a young woman caught a niiin in the act, and tried to hold him. but lie broke away, ;md wat- chased by the girl and others, and tracked down to his house. The police entered the house, and arretted a man, who denied having been out, and <aid lie had been in bed an hour ami a-half. The girl, however, was positve of his identity.
