AUCKLAND, This Day, At the Supremo Court to-day Judge I'ldwards and a special jury look cvilence in the claim for £1940 damages, jrouglit by tlie Northern Coal Company igainst the Union Steam Ship Company in connection with the collision in the Auckland harbour on March 10th, between the steamer Wiiiriina and ketch Mooiiab. The stuieinent of claim alleged that the Watruna was negligently and improperly navigated, and collided with the ketch while tlie latter was sailing mi the harbour. The defence is a denial of the allegations in respect' to the navigation of the steamer and the assertion that the collision was caused by negligence and improper navigation of the plaintiff's sei'vanis, in having failed to observe the collision regulations under the Shipping and Seamen's Act ,1003.
