CHURCH NOTES.

Both services at the Wanganui East Presbyterian Church to-morrow will be conducted by Rev. G. Paterson Campbell. A hearty invitations is extended to all friends. Special services will be conducted at the Salvation Army on Sunday by Envoy and Mrs Jenkins, of Eltham. Band and soldiers will give special items and addreses. Everyone heartilv invited. The Rev. David Calder, 8.A., who is at present on a visit to Wanganui, will occupy the pulpit at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church to-morrow night. Old friends are cordially invited to attend. There will be a special song service at the Upper Aramoho Presbyterian Church to-morrow night. All are welcome. . The monthly song service will be held in the Dublin Street Methodist Church to-morrow evening at 6.45 p.m. The preacher is the Rev. B. Dudley. Alexander’s hymns will be used throughout the. evening. Miss Franklin Brown will sing a solo. Other services at Aramoho and Westmere are advertised. In the absence of Rev. E. R. Harries, who is attending the General Assembly, the pulpit at St. Paul’s Church to-morrow morning and evening will be occupied by the Rev. Hugh Beggs. It is expected that large congregations will be present, as Mr Beggs has made himself a firm favourite with St. Paul’s people. The 38th anniversary of the Ingestre Street Baptist Church will be celebrated to-morrow by special services conducted by the Rev. Stanley Jenkin. The morning subject will be: ‘‘God, the Husbandman,” and the evening, ‘‘Conan Doyle and an Implacable God,” or “The Challenge of the Divine Fatherhood.” The choir, with Mr Honey combe as leader, will render special music, and at the evening communion the church officers and others will be solemnly set apart for the work' of another year. At Trinity Methodist Church the Rev. Ji R. Nelson will preach at 11 a.m. The monthly musical service will be held at 6.45 p.m. Mr A. L. Pickett will sing “The Holy City.” The- Rev. H. Lj, Blainires will speak on “The; Ideal City.” Retiring > collections will be taken for the “Starving Children .Fund.” The Rev. 0. S. Pearii will conduct the services at Wanganui East. ■ At. Gonville the preachers will be the Revs. H. L. Blamires and J. R. Nelson.
