N.Z, MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 19. At a meeting of the Management Committee of the N.Z. Cricket Council, Mr P. C. Raphael was re-ap-pointed chairman. The Manawaitu Association, wrote stating that it had lodged a challenge for the Hawke Cup- now held by Poverty Bay. \ The secretary was instructed to write to the, Taihape Association, which applied for affiliation, stating that the application would be favourably considered when particulars as to boundaries, etc., were forwarded. The Auckland Association wrote suggesting that a Samoan team should tour New Zealand during the present season. It was decided not to approve Jaifthe idearowing to the proposed viSit of an Australian team, and also owing'to the high cost of travelling. ' December 25th, 27th, and 28th were approved as dates for .the Shield match between Auckland and Hawke’s Bay. It was reported that the Heathcote Williams Shield match between Palmerston North High School and Napier High School would probably be commenced ,at Palmerston North on December 15. Challenges for the Shield have also been received from Christchurch and Waltak’i Boys’ High Schools. Consideration of the date of the proposed “North v. South Island match was deferred until .some finality was reached concerning the proposed tour of an Australian team. < Various asosciations wrote approving of the proposal for an Australian team to tour the Dominion this season, 'concerning which tour it was decided to make further enquiries. W./H. Winsor, J. P. Blake, and F. G. Raphael were appointed a committee to consider boundaries of affiliated associations. ~ ,
