THE WOOL PROBLEM

WELLINGTON SALE ABANDONED.

'WELLINGTON, Nov. 19. The wool sales set down for Monday have been abandoned. About 2500 bales were to have been offered, and though the brokers wished to test the market, some representative North Island wool buyers thought otherwise. There will be no sale till the Christchurch date, December 7, is reached, and, Rafter Timaru and Dunedin, Wellington will follow on December 20. The feeling among the trade is that matters will remain unsatisfactory till the policy of the British Government is known. It has two million six hundred thousand bales on hand. The general opinion is that much of this year’s clip will have to he held in the Dominion*.
