DROWNING FATALITY

AT TEARAROA. (Per TJnited Press Association.) GISBORNE, Nov. 3. ' Further details of the Teararoadrowning show that Frederick Trendue, a returned soldier, with four years’ service, employed at Hicks’ Bay freezing works as a carpenter, went out ■ with four companions to fish on the rocks near Matakaoa Point on Sunday morning. He was missed by bis companions, and on their return home it .was found that Trenue had not arrived, and on Monday morning over 100 men from the works went out and searched the coast and neighbouring .. hills, but no trace could be found except a fishing line stiHrin the water. The sea near the Point is treacherous. Trenue had been warned ..not to venture too far out on the rocks. Deceased, who was unmarried, was 40 years or age and came from Auckland. His mother is thought to be living in Adelaide.
