The German Government have despatched a detailed reply to the demand of the Ambassadors’ Conference for the destruction of Diesel motors, stating that the Versailles Treaty speaks not of the destruction but only of the breaking up of U boats, showing clearly that it was not intended to make them absolutely unusable.
