The Trade Union Congress hai re-assembled. Lalajpatrai said he had come to the conclusion that he could place no more faith in British statesmanship, and was determined therefore to follow his own policy. Mr Wedgwood appealed for the formation of unions and the avoidance oi wild disorganised strikes. The meeting passed a resolution nominating a standing committee for the year to manage the affairs of the Congress, and further the cause of the workers until a permanent constitution was adopted.
