. MODERATES V. EXTREMISTS. LONDON, November 3. There is intense interest regarding the result of the miners’ ballot. There are violent differences of opinion between the moderates and the extremists, particularly in South Wales, where Vermin Hartshorn yesterday resigned from the Miners’ Federation owing to the attacks of extremists, though lie was later persuaded to withdraw his resignation. The moderate leaders are emphasising the fact that the strike fund will he exhausted if the men vote in favour of a strike. The first ballots indicate that the men will agree to a settlement.
