At the Supreme Court Jessie Anderson pleaded guilty to‘bigamy and making a false statement to the Registrar by describing herself as a spinster. She had parted from her husband by mutual consent, and thinking him dead, married again. Mr Justice Chapman remarked that accused took no pains to find proof of her husband’s death, a’nd had no right to describe herself as a. spinster. He would take time to consider what was the best course to pursue. •
