KAITOKE.

At the householders’ meeting held in the Kaitoke Hall last Wednesday evening the election of hall committee resulted as follows; —Jlcssrs H. A. Ruscoe, ,T. Craig, J. Crawshaw, S. Allcook, F. A. Fowler, A. Lynch, and It. Morgan. The balance-sheet was read by the sec-retary,-and tKe hail found to be in a sound financial position. It was decided that the hall should be painted as soon as possible when the weather permitted. It was proposed by Mr Woolston, seconded by Mr Euscoe, and carried unanimously by the members standing, that there should be placed in the minutes a record of the good work done by the late Mr Noah Garner in connection with the building and maintenance of the hall. On Thursday evening last, August sth, the Kaitoke Social Club held another of their dances, which proved quite a success, there being a large number of visitors from Wanganui and the surrounding districts, as well as the local residents. The floor was well filled. Mr Copley’s music was, as usual, much appreciated, while extras were kindly played by Miss Potter, Miss Cox, and Mr Kirk. During the interval, at supper time, Miss Jean Wilson, accompanied by Miss Potter, sang “Coming Home.” Mr S. Allcock acted as M.C., and carried out his duties in a most efficient manner. The dancing was continued till well after midnight.
