Renter.—August 11, 9 a.m. LONDON, August 9. The House of Commons adopted a resolution authorising the payment of a hundred thousand sterling as the Government's share of the guarantee fund in connection with the’ forthcoming British Empire Exhibition. The guarantee was conditional on the guarantee of half a million sterling being forthcoming from private sources. There was every reason to believe the sum would be found. It was necessary that our manufacturers should find new markets, and our greatest hope of securing them lay in the Empire.
