WANGANUI WOOLLEN MILLS, LIMITED
A meeting of directors of this company was held last week, when 30,000 shares were allotted, making a total allotment of 170,u00 shares. Saturday, 14th August, was fixed as the closing date for the receipt of applications for shares. Only 30,000 shares are available for subscription, and of these wc arc informed by the secretary that applications are in hand for 16,000, thus leaving 14,000 only now available. Directors have reserved the right to dose before Saturday next, if the list is complete before that date. The statutory general meeting of shareholders will be held on ISth August, and the directors propose to proceed at once with the necessary work, to enable the buildings and plant to be erected as early as possible. Applications arc coming in freely from other districts, mainly from the immediate location of the present woollen mills in the Dominion. Applications may be lodged by Wanganui investors within the next few days only with the chief brokers, Messrs Silk, Haworth and Co., or any local broker.
