BANK OF NEW ZEALAND

At the annual meeting of the Bank of New Zealand, held in Wellington recently, the chairman of directors—Mr Harold Beauchamp—dealt in his usual masterly manner with all phases of the Dominion’s financial problems. Mr Beauchamp made it quite clear that speculation should be discouraged, while development and legitimate investment were most desirable. The Great Western Timber Company, Ltd., is being formed for the purpose of cutting the finest forests ,in the Dominion, and as a result of such clearing of the country, wonderful development will take place. Shareholders in this great undertaking are, therefore, assisting in a national duty.- Applications for shares will be received by any branch of the Bank of New Zealand, or from Messrs Silk, Haworth and Co., 44 Maria Place, Wanganui, or from Messrs Frank Graham and Son, Christchurch, from whom prospectus may be had.*
