WILD SCENES IN OTHER TOWNS. Received July 26, 1 p.m. LONDON, Julv 3.3. There have been three more deaths in Belfast hospital, making the riot’s death roll seventeen. Rioting during the week end was less extensive. Occasionally, hostile crowds exchanged stones and bottles. Protestant families are being evicted from Catholic areas and vice versa. The furniture is being thrown into the streets and burned. Ther were wild scenes on Saturday night in the neighbouring towns of Bangore, Bannvaliinch, Nowtonwards, and Lisburn, necessitating the calling out of troops. The military patrol, who were enforcing the curfew at Blackpool, were fired on. They returned the fire, wounding Michael Callaghan, a labourer, MURDER OF SERGEANT MULHERN. DENOUNCED BY PRIEST. LONDON. July _ 25. Directly Sergeant Mulhern, of the Chief Intelligence Department of West Cork, reached the holy water font, and was making the sign of the Cross, two masked men, who were hiding in the church porch, fired several shots at point blank range. Mulhern immediately expired. The service was sus-:)-ndod. but was resumed an hour later. The priest strongly denounced the crime.
