MR BRYAN NOMINATED BY PROHIBITIONISTS. ME HARDING’S PROMISES. Received Julv 24, 9.40 a.m. NEW YORE, July 22. A telegram, from Lincoln, Nebraska, states that the Prohibition Party has nominated Mr Biyan for the Presidency. According to a message from Marion, Ohio, Mr Harding has promised to sign peace immediately Congress has passed a declaration to the effect that there will be “no surrender of rights to the world council or military alliance. and that no assumed mandatory ever shall summon sons of the Republic to tho war.” He would approach the nations proposing to commit the “moral forces of the ’-orld, America included, to peace and international justice, still leaving America free, independent, and self-reliant, but offering friendship to all the world.” He approves of collective bargaining, but insists that the exorcise of it must not destroy the right of the individual iu tho pursuit of his livelihood. The right to strike against Government property is denied, as its service does not involve' profit. He opposes Government ownership, but approves of a free Panama Canal for American shipping, a protective tariff, care of veterans, especially the disabled, and would effect an understanding with Mexico, enforce Prohibition, and give America maritime supremacy.
