ENGLISH COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP. LONDON, July 3. Hendren, with 76.66, heads the batting averages, and is followed by Mead 58.38, Hobbs 57.15 and Heanie 52.60. Rhodes leads the bowling with an average of 12.23; Cook has 13.32 and Woolley 13.82. Surrey leads the county competition, Kent being second. Playing for Oxfoid against Loveson Gower's eleven at Eastborne, Bettington made 101 in an unfinished innings of sixty-five minutes, Botlmgton completing his hundred with the winning hit.
