SERIOUS POSITION IN SOUTH * AFRICA.
Assn.—May 4, 1.20 p.m., CAPETOWN, May 3. A serious position has arisen in connection with the wheat shortage. The price has advanced to 62/6 per sack. Two hundred pounds of flour has jumped from 11/- to 73/-, and the price of Vead has been raised ten per cent.
