In order to create London as the centre of engineering an appeal lias been issued for =£loo,ooo for an extension of engineering laboratories and a university college. Viscount Cowdray, who is a great oil magnate, has already contributed <£lo,ooo, and he will give another <£lo,ooo when =£70,000 is subscribed.
