Australian and N.Z. Cable Association,. Received January 28, 9.10 a.m. SYDNEY, January 28. Captain Matthews cables from Bagdad. dated 24th, that he flow from Constantinople to Aleppo on the 14th without a stop in three hours, at ten thousand feet for 200 miles, being over the mountains of Asia Minor. A week of rain followed. At Aleppo there were no hangars and no British. He made the journey from Aleppo to Bagdad on the 21st in four hours. This was the first fine flying weather he had experienced. He is having an overhaul made here, with every assistance from the R. A. F. He is leaving on the 27th by the usual route to India. His average speed to date is 104 miles per hour. His aeroplane *is a wonderful machine n bad weather. The crew are OK.
