M. Millerand had not a promising reception in the Chamber; a rote of confidence was carried by 273 votes to 33, but 240 deputies refrained from voting. Hie debate was stormy and confused. M. Daudet, son of the novelist, accused M. Steeg, Minister of Interior, with being a traitor and an associate of Maivy.
