WILHELM'S LETTERS.
THE FINAL INSTALMENT.
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, January 23. The final instalment of the Kaiser’s letters to Nicky covered the period from February, 1913, to February, 1914. The letters are of gossipy nature. Writing in February, 1913, the Kaiser fervently hoped that the Balkan troubles would soon be finally arranged without complications. He expresses the opinion that Austria, as a near neighbour, has her interest to look after, but he was under the impression that she did not desire to claim anything for herself. He added: “She wishes to make sure that no readjustment of the map should occur which would be dangerous to her future.” In his March letter, the Kaiser complains, “That damned Balkan muddle has deprived me of being at my heavenly paradise —Corfu.”
