THE RAILWAY BOARD.

ANOTHER MEETING,

(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, January 26. Proceedings at the Railway Inquiry Board were adjourned to this afternoon owing to the locomotive branch being unable to proceed through the late receipt of the reply from the Railway Department to the Association’s application. Mr Justice Stringer, the chairman, in announcing that the Inquiry was-to be conducted in public, said that as the inquiry concerned the wages and working conditions of one of our great Public Services, lie personally saw no reason why the public should not have the application of the workers and evidence in support brought under their notice. He would, however, consult the wishes of the different branches of the service. If there were any objection to the proceedings in public, .they would not be so conducted.
