NEW YORK, January 22, William Fox has cabled Descamps offering Carpentier either a guarantee of 250,000 dollars to meet Dempsey, or a combined purse of 500,000 dollars, of which the winner will get 75 per cent, and 35 per cent, of the net profits, the American, French, Australian, Canadian, and English Red Cross receiving 50 per cent, of the profits.
