Drastic measures to reduce the us© of coal will shortly be enforced unless the miners'return to work.. All railroad services will be out in half, electric lighting in all cities reduced, and trains only partially heated. Business hours have been reduced in many cities. It is estimated that a large number of midwestern industries have been compelled to abut down their plants due to the fuel shortage.
