NEW PLYMOUTH SITTINGS

The Supreme Court opened to-day before the Chief Justice, who congratulated the district on the lightness of the calendar. A native woman named Mary McLean was found guilty of bigamy. Neville James Crozier was acquitted on charges of breaking and entering a dwelling with intent to commit a crime. He pleaded guilty to committing common assault on a young girt while in the dwelling. Jack Johnston pleaded guilty to charges of breaking and entering. Sentences in all cases were deferred till to-morrow morning. Agnes McArtney was granted a decree nisi against Angus McArtney, on the ground of desertion.
