BUTCHERS’ AND BAKERS' AWARDS.

(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, December 8. The award filed in the batchers’ dispute fixes the hours at 7 a.m. to 5 p.m on four days per week with one hour for dinner; on Saturday from .6 a.m. to 5 p.m., one and a half hourfi for meals; and Wednesdays 7 a.m. to 12 noon. The wages for the first shopman or small goods' man arc not to be less than £4 7s 6d, and for second shopman £3 17s 6d; all other workers £3 12s 6d, with a weekly bonus of 5s for all workers. Overtime rate is to be time and a half. Female labour, except by wife or daughter of the employer, is prohibited. There is special provision for female bona fide pork bntccrs, ours not exceeding 47 per week, the wages to he from £1 5s to £3 10s in accordance with the length of service. The duration of the award is to ho from Ist January, 1920, to 20th October, 1921. The bakers’ award filed to-day limits the hours to 48 per week to be regulated by employer, overtime in excess of ten hours worked on any one day. Wages, minimum foreman baker, or pastrycook, £4 5s per week: journeyman, £3 15s; labourer, £3 ss, with a bonus in addition of 4s per week. The award operates from 29th December, 1919, to 39th December, 1921.
