GARDEN PARTY.

Members of the local branch of the Ingestro Street Baptist Women’s Missionary Prayer Union held a most enjoyable garden party on Saturday afternoon last at the residence of Mr L. Honeycombe, in Alexandra Street. The Kev. Stanley Tonkin, in declaring the gathering open, welcomed the visitors, and expressed the united pleasureWcf those present at seeing among their number tire Hon. Gilbert Carson, expresident of the Society. The weather was beautiful, and this permitted excellent business at the stalls, which were excellently arranged on the pretty .grounds. A bevy of ladies dispensed afternoon tea, others engaged in games on the lawns. Musical items, which were most appreciated,, were submitted from the spacious room adjoining and a nxmbcr of children and young ladies were attired in Indian and native costumes.
