WANGANUI HIDE .AND TALLOW SALES. _ The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report; We held onr monthly sale on hides, etc., on Wednesday last, when we submitted a good catalogue to the usual attendance of buyer's. Tanners were again in attendance and selected at schedule price all the best calf and 50 po • cent, of the best- lines of hides. Competition was very keen for all lines submitted to auction at prices about three to four pence less than for the extreme prices paid at our previous sale. We quote as under; Heavy ox, 18i,d to IS id; medium ox, 17|d to 18Jd; medium to light ox, 18d to 18H per lb.; light ox, to 18-1 per lb ; heavy cow, 16Jd to 18Jd per 3b.; medium cow, 17-ld to 18R1 per lb.; light cow, 17‘]d to 19 7-Sd per lb.; slightly out ox, 16 7-8-1 io ISd.: did-i-V cut cow. 171 to 17 7-ccl ■ ■ !; i3i. ; , cow, 16j|d to 17jd per lb.; cut and slippy cow, 10 td to 32gd per lb.; slippy ■ ix, 14id per lb.; horse hides, 9s to 13s each; yearling, 16id to 24fd per lb.; cut yearling, 9}d io 20d per lb. ; heavy calf, 20d to 26id per lb.; cut and slippy calf, 16 7-Sd to 33Jd per lb.; bulls, 10’d io 121 d per lb.
