DUNEDIN DISSATISFACTION

(Per United Press Association.! DUNEDIN, November 20. A conference of Dunedin public bodies last night expressed dissatisfaction with shipping facilities, and resolutions were passed asking that a continuation of the renewal of the V ancouver and ’Frisco mail contracts, be at a flat rate to and from the four main ports of New Zealafid; that the Canadian Government be urged, when arranging a steamer service to New Zealand, to take into consideration the making of Dunedin a main.port or one of the ports of call; that the merchant shipping companies of Los Angelos be ■Wrrithen to similarly; that companies be recommended to take immediate steps to re-establish regular steam services between Melbourne and Sydney —Dunedin and the Bluff; that delegates be requested to bring before their respective bodies the question of the Government owning and controlling a line of steamers for transport of goods in the New Zealand trade.
