AMUSEMENTS & MEETINGS.

EVERYBODY’S. A picture of splendid achievement, “Blind Man’s Eyes,” in which Bert Lytell is starred, was seen yesterday at Everybody’s Theatre, where it played to a large and appreciative audience. This popular young actor plays a role which brings out in a remarkable manner his unusual skill in both heavy emotional drama and light; and sympathetic comedy, The supports include a. tworeel comedy entitled “The Slave,” starring Billy West, and the latest Pictorial News. THE! GRAND. Tbe new programme, “His Royal Highness,” was serened, at the Grand Theatre last night to a crowded audience. “His Royal Highness” is a romantic drama of a. Balkan State, in which Carlyle Blackwell and Evelyn Greeley share the honours as co-stars. Starting off with some magnificent) views of a Harvard-Yale football match, in which the hero wins the day, the story passes through some phases of college life, to Paris, and thence to the principality in the Balkans. The supporting films are the latest Partlhe News and “’The Fighting Trail,” No. 8. Patrons are advised to attend early to-night. Under the auspices of the Methodist Girls’ Bible Class there will be a sale of work to be held in the grounds of Mrs F. Webb-Jones, Gonville Avenue, to-morrow (Saturday). Should the weathec prove unfavourable, the gathering will take place in Trinity Schoolroom.' SOUTH AFRICAN VETERANS. The annual meeting of the Wanganui South African Veterans’ Association will be held in the Druids’ Hall to-morrow (Saturday) evening, at 7.46, a social gathering following the meeting. Several important matters are to bo discussed, and a full muster is therefore requested.' A school concert and dance in aid of the children’s prize fund was held at Brunswick on Friday, November sth. The children had been preparing for weeks under the direction of Mrs Birss and Mrs Williams, and great credit is due to them for the excellent manner in which the children had been instructed. The first part of the programme took the form of a cantata entitled “Soot and the Fairies,” and in the second part the young children contributed solos and duets and acquitted themselves most creditably. After supper, Mrs Birss and the children took the floor and provided the audience, which was a very large one, with interesting dances for about an hour. Music was kindly supplied by Mrs Ebbett. Financially the concert was a great success, the nett result being about £14,, and to Mrs Birss and the teacher, who did the real work, this must be a source of great satisfaction, as it is also to the committee. WESTMERE PARISH. Mr James Aiken, B.A. Rapanui.—U a.m. Maxwelltown. —2.30 p.m. Westmere. —7.30 p.m.
