PRINCE OF WALES.
ENTHUSIASTIC AMERICAN WELCOME. Anfitralian and N.Z. Cable Association. NEW YORK, November 19. Cheering throngs greeted the Prince of Wales on his arrival from West Virginia. Mayor Hylen. at the City Hall, extended the'city’s formal greeting to the Prince, upon whom the freedom of the city of New York was also conferred. Francis Huro, Secretary of State for New York State, presented him with a silk American flag. _ The Prince of W T ales, responding to the toast of ‘"Hie Allies,” advocated close association between New York and London, whereon the trade of the world so largely depended. The Prince visited Grant’s tomb, and i returned aboard the Renown, where he | is staying during his visit. | Parachutes, bearing the Union Jack and the American Flag were released | over the river on the Prince’s arrival. A W r all Street mob cheered the Prince of Wales and the chimes of Trinity Church played “God Save the King.” Thousands of paper streamers filled the sky and fell on the Prince’s i ca T,* Business is at a standstill, offices emptying crowds into the streets. The Prince of Wales visited the | dkyscrapers, the Stock Exchange and I file Horse Show. At a ball given i by Mr Whitelaw Reid, he was the i guest of honour. Crowds following " him shouted, “Hello, Prince. He’s a regular guy.”
