AMUSEMENTS & MEETINGS

THE GRAND. To-night will be the last screenings of the famous dancer. Gaby Deslys, who has created great interest in her screen portrayal of “Infatuation,” which is an extravagant and luxurious setting for a rarely beautiful and extravagant woman. It justifies all one's expectations and some of the wonderful scenes go much further, French in story, cast, settings, origin, and direction, it is more welcome on account of its novelty and difference to what we have become accustomed. The old hackneyed plots and situations, the everlasting presence of the expected are absent. It is entirely fresh and fragrantly pleasing, and picture patrons should not miss the opportunity of seeing this unique French production. The supporting films are all good. To-mor-row Carlyle Blackwell will appear in “His Royal Highness,” supported by Evelyn Greeley. “The Fighting Trail,” No. 8 will also be shown. EVERYBODY’S THEATRE, Those who have not yet seen William Parnum in “Eiders of the Purple Sage,” whicli will end its run this evening at Everybody’s Theatre, should not fail to do so if they want to see some of tire most startling scenes ever pictured on the American screen. This picture, based on Zano Grey’s famous novel of the same name, tells the story of a man’s hunt for the abductors of his sister in the early days of the Mormon settle’ ment in Utah. The supporting films are all good. To-morrow Bert Lytell will appear in “Blind Man’s Eyes.” HIS MAJESTY’S. “GOOD NIGHT, PAUL.” Another delightful Constance Talmadge comedy in “Good Night, Paul,” is to ho screened at His Majesty’s Theatre to-morrow evening, in which the youthful and seductive star plays the paid; of a blushing young bride. The ingredients of this swiftest of screen farces are a rich uncle from Canada, a woman-hater nephew caught in the midst of a big fib, ’an alarmed partner, and Constance as his cleverly obliging wife, together with a saucy and attractive display of lovely damsels in the latest fashions in lingerie. The action is swift and busy, and as usual with Constance, she handles the most delicate of situations in a manner that she is past mistress of. Norman Kerry and Harrison Ford assist her to disentangle herself from the very serious complications into which she falls in a series of screaming comedy situations. There is a decidedly American flavour to the play, which is a five-reel raid on the fortress of gloom. There are three intensely interesting supports, including Bairnsfather’s Cartoons. As the demand for scats is sure to be heavy, patrons should reserve at Upton’s Music Warehouse, the Avenue.

HIS MAJESTY’S. To-night will bo the last opportunity of witnessing the magnificent programme which has been attracting large audiences to His Majesty’s Theatre. Francis X. Bushman and Beverley Bayne are seen to the best possible advantage in “Social Quicksands.” be as a woman-hater and she as a girl burglar. The story is bright throughout and provides a fund of laughter. Christie’s comedy, “Bed Grossed,” is good, and the pictorial, educational, and the Co-operative Weekly are interesting. Box plan is at Upton’s Music Warehouse. GRAN’ SCOTCH GETHERIN’. Onr readers are reminded ef the concert to be held in the Opera- House tonight.
