Col. C. W. Melvill, C.8., C.M.G., D.5.0., has been appointed to the command of the Wellington Military District.
Or. Green has been appointed to represent the Borough Council at the conference to be held at Wellington next week to consider the matter of a Dominion award for tramway workers. Cr. Green and the tramway engineer, Mr F. P. Talboys, will leave Wanganui on Monday for the purpose of attending this conference.
