An industrial dispute between the newly-formed Christchurch Clerks, Cashiers, and Office Employees’ Union and the employers came before the Conciliation Council to-day. . Except for.a little individual criticism none of the clauses in the Union’s demands was discussed, the employers’ agents holding it was impossible to embody in one document recommendations to govern the many trades and professions cited. The proceedings were adjourned on the understanding that if, in the meantime, the Union does not draft fresh proposals, the Council cannot make any recommendations to the Arbitration Court-
