RUSSIAN PROBLEM.
HAS INTERVENTION FAILED?

In the House of Commons, in opening the debate’ on our Russian policy, Sir Donald Mac Lean urged Ahat Russia should be left to work 'out her own salvation. He declared that the policy of intervention had failed, and that the Bolsheviks were stronger than ever. He also expressed the opinion that a spirit of resentment at foreign interference was awakening Russia, and our policy should be devised accordingly. He emphasised the point that our future in India and the Bast depended largely on whether we were able to pursue ' our mission there peacefully.
