ABBOTT— CARVELL. A very pretty wedding was solemnised oti E'oanesday, November sth, at St. Mary’s Church, Wanganui, the Very Rev. Father Meynard officiating. Tire contracting parties being Miss Eileen Carvel J, only, daughter of Mr and Mrs W. L, Carvell, of Snring.va.le; Wangantii, and Mr George William Abbott (late sergeant), son of the late Mr J. A. Abbott. Tire bride, who was given-away bv her father, wore a charming gown w;lh Irain of satin with overdress of georgette. A handsome hand embroidered. veil fell from a wreath of silver and clusters of orange blossoms. A beautiful shower bouquet of pink roses was carried. Miss Elly Braughan, of Blenheim (chief), and Misses Ethel and Rita C arvell (cousins of the bride), and Miss Aileen Collins were bridesmaids. Miss Braughan was becomingly gowned with shell pink crepe-dc-chine and palest, line georgette, with hat to match, and carried a bouquet of pink and cream roses, and wore a pendant and chain, the gift of the bridegroom, while the three other maids wore dainty frocks of blue silk with touches of pink and cream hats, and'parried pnssics of pink and white flowers. They also wore gold brooches, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr Fred Locker (Patea) was best; man, and Mr Leon Carvell was groomsman. Tile bridegroom’s present, to the bride was a diamond and emerald ring, and bride’s present was a. silver cigarette case. Mr and Mrs Carvell entertained lli.eir guesls at their residence, SprSagvale, Where a dainty breakfast was served, and the customary toasts were duly honoured. The bride’s travelling dress was n. smart fawn tailored costume with hat of cream and pint. The happy couple loft bv motor for Palmerston eu route to Hawke’s Bay. Mr and Mrs Abbott were the rec'r-ients of many valuable presents, including cheques.
