Mr E. G. Ross, of Messrs McGruer and Co., is on a final visit to Wanganui prior to his - departure for England, where lie is to assume control and direction of the firm’s London buying stalf. Mr Ross lias just completed a ten weeks’ business tour of New Zealand, and has found in all communities the same spirit of prosperity as evidenced in Wanganui ait present. Mr Ross and family leave Wellington by the Argyleshire on Tuesday next. A wide circle of friends throughout the district will learn with deep regret of the death of Mrs Richard Baddeley, which occurred yesterday. The deceased lady had been a resident of this district for over thirty years, and was highly esteemed for her fine womanly qualities. Sincere sympathy will be extended to Mr Baddeley and his family in their great bereavement. Tbe country has lost another link with ihe past in the death of Mr David Fleming, which occurred at his late residence, Waverley, last Monday. Deceased, who was 82 years of age, was an old and respected resident of the district, and his many friends will regret his demise. Mr J. S. Harrison, manager of the local branch of Messers Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., left for a business trip to Sydney on Wednesday, and expects to be be away for about three weeks.
