—i «» 1 PROMISING ATTRACTION GOOD ENTRIES EECETVED. Given, fine ■weather, the coming Show to be held on Thursday and Friday next, should prove a oig l attraction for the public. There has been an excellent response on the part of exhibitors, and a large number of entries have been received in a groat number of classes. The horse entries are numerically strong. Kecord entries in the Shorthorn class have been received, and Aberdeen Angus, milking Shortlwns, and Herefords will make a fine display. Entries in Jerseys, Priesians, and Ayrshires are not very strong. In the sheep classes there has been, a good response oil the part of Bomney and Lincoln breeders, while the other breeds will also be represented. Pat stock promises to be a fine feature. There will be 47 pens of fat cattle and 67 pens of fat sheep and lambs. The dog exhibits, which will be under the control of the Wanganui Canine Society, will he good in numbers and quality. In Pomeranians and toy classes there will be record fields. About 40 pig entries have been received, but competition is confined to a couple of breeders. As in previous years, splendid entries have been received for the home industries section. Over 800 entries have been received for the cooking classes, and there are 120 entries for the returned soldiers' section. Seventy-two entries have been received for the, i-oys' amateur judging, wool-classing, and milking test. The second day of the Show — People's Day—will have manifold attractions for visitors. There will be a grand parade of stock and an attractive programme of ring events. As the result of the exceptional prizes offered, the hunters' jumping competition and leaping event (steeplechase style) have each drawn 17 entrants.
