MB CUTTLE’S CANDIDATURE.

To the Editor.

Sir, —l obser :-i from reports of his speech that that aspirant to Parliamentary hmoors, Mr W. J. Cuttle, has stated that he would support Mr Massey every time as against Sir Joseph Ward. And yet, as you have already pointed out, in his address in the Opera House he condemned the Massey Government right and left for its failings and inconsistencies. Is not Mr Cuttle a little inconsistent himsmf? Again, he poses as a mighty champion of anti-mili-tarism, and said that the military system pr«duced fops or snobs, forgetful of this fact, that nearly every profession in life is equally to blame in this respect. It would bo much better for all concerned if Mr Cuttle would let it be known plainly on what side he is—either for Labour or Eeform Free lances are never a success in Parliament, and only do more harm than. good.—l am, etc., ANTE HALF-AND-HALF.
