SLATE HUNTS IN NEW GUINEA. ALLEGED MILITARY LEVIES BY • AUSTRALIA. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. Received November 13, 9.30 a.m. BERLIN, November 11. Captain Detener, lecturing before the Berlin Geogrpahical Society, said the natives of New Guinea were against the Dominion of Australia, whose military levies have delcvoped into slave hunts. Even English planters had addressed letters to Detzuer advocating that the country should not be handed to Australia. The natives had collected money for a German war memorial.
