Mr A. S- Dymock, clerk to the Wailotara County Council, who recently returned from war service abroad, has resumed his duties at the Council office. - Lieut.-Coloned F. K. Turnbull, D.5.0., MX'., and Mr? Turnbull, returned to Wanganui yesterday evening. Lieut.-Colonel Tnrnbuil left New Zealand as a lieutenant with the Main Body, and saw much active service, both on Gallipoli and in France, earning the D.S.O. and M.C., and rising to his present rank. He came back to New Zealand as O.C. troops on the Prinzessin. It is'‘bis intention to resume practice of bis profession as a barrister in Wanganui. Notwithstanding the uncertainty of the train’s arrival, a number of the legal profession and business men met him. Mr C. S Swan, who has been resident fci Wanganui for very many years, left with the Main Body, ?n l retmhed recently after over four and a half years’ service, has been appoi.ited secretary of the local Repatriation Committee, succeeding Mr Tattle, who has resigned to go into business.'
Mr Christopher Cross, well-known in maritime, volunteering-, football and cricketing circles in \V anganm many years ago, died recently at Mosman’s Bay, Sydney. He was a son of the late Captain Cross, harbourmaster at Nelson. He was one of the team which defeated the Australian Eleven which visited Wanganui in the 80’s.
