SPREADING IN AUSTRALIA,

Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. BRISBANE, June 4. Influenza continues to increase its hold both, in the city anti country districts. Up to Monday 6595 cases were reported in the metropolitan area and 2113 in the country. Since Saturday there have been over 40 deaths, including nine in the country. SYDNEY, June 4. On Wednesday evening the influenza position was again less reassuring. There were over a hundred new cases and seven deaths in the metropolitan area to-day. In several of the country centres the ep ; demic shows an increasing tendency, and precautions are again being adopted in the country districts against the spread of the disease-
