The death is reported from Nelson of Mr John sharp, at the age of 90. He held many important posts in the old Provincial Council, and was resident Magistrate, cx-Mayor, and represented Nelson in Parliament in the seventies. Miss W T ard, who has severed her connection with the Patea Farmers’ Trading Association, was the other day the recipient of a valuable presentation from the manager and staff. The gift of goodwill took the form of a tea set and a manicure set. At a meeting of the Patea Library Committee Mr J. Power was appointed vice Mr L. Cronin, whose resigHpufution was regretfully received.
