TRANS-ATLANTIC FLIGHT.

START FURTHER DELAYED. INTERFERENCE ALLEGED. LONDON, April 26. „ The Daily Mail states that a mystery is involved in the failure of Harry Hawker and Captain Eaynham to start their Atlantic flight a few days ago. British meteorologists ■ reported the weather as almost perfect for 24 hours, but North American reports were oon•tradictory, and deterred the airmen. The Daily Mail suggests interference with a view to delaying the flight. The official British reports will in future be sent to airmen in code. A message from St. John’s states that Hawker intends to drop a marked bundle of charts when over Ireland, and ask's watchers on the coast to pick it up and note the time. Eaynham will drop a message bag with streamers. It is reported from America that previously undisclosed terms of the Atlantic contest provide that Hawker will receive a bonus of £ IO,OOO, and his navigator. Grieve, a sum of J4OOO, exclusive of the Daily Mail prize, if they reach Ireland. The tst. John’s correspondent of the Evening News reports tiat Captain Eaynham is facetiously laying out a garden around his hangar, and planting sweet peas and climbers. He says he hopes not to see them grow before his flight, “but one never can tell in these climates.” -
