LEAGUE OF NATIONS.
OBJECTION TO PROPOSED AMENDMENT. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association Received April 10, 9.10 a.m. NEW YORK, April 9. Despatches from Paris say that the Australian delegates pointed out that the proposed amendment to the League of Nations covenant recognising the Monroe doctrine would validate and confirm Japan’s claims to preponderance in China. Orient experts are trying to find a formula for overcoming the objection.
