SUGGESTIVE THERAPEUTICS

WHAT IS IT? Therapeutics means ‘'Tie branch, of Medical Science dealing with the Treatment of. Disease/' and Suggestion is the means by which the cure as made; so “Suggestive Therapeutics" means the Cure of Disease by Suggestion. In the treatment 'of .functional and Muscular Diseases and Nervous Disorders, such as Mental Depression and Weakness following Influenza, Hallucinations, Obsessions, etc.. Suggestion has proved of the greatest henelit. In, the treatment of Shell-Shock and all Nervous Disorders, consequent on the nervous strain of warfare, Medical Science has proved that simple Suggestion is the chief means by which these troubles can be cured. Muscular Disorders are treated by Suggestion, Massage, Manipulation, and Re-Education in the use of the muscles. There is a great misunderstanding on the part of the general public as to how Suggestion is applied, the popular idea being that the patient must submit to Hypnosis. In my treatment by Suggestion, I find it rarely necessary to resort to Hypnotism, and then ONLY with the full understanding and consent of the patient. Those who desire Hypnotic Treatment can, therefore, have it if they wish, otherwise only simple Suggestion is used.
